The IT Support Specialist is responsible for maintaining and supporting Gregory Construction’s internal IT infrastructure. This is a hands-on role providing day-to-day operational support across the organization, including networks, servers (on-premises and cloud), end-user devices, system access, and security controls.
Key Responsibilities
- Provide day-to-day support for company-wide IT systems and infrastructure
- Maintain and support network environments, including servers, firewalls, VPNs, switches, and endpoints
- Configure, deploy, image, and decommission end-user devices (laptops, desktops, tablets, mobile devices)
- Monitor system performance, availability, and security; respond to alerts and incidents
- Administer endpoint protection, antivirus, and firewall systems
- Perform patch management, vulnerability remediation, and system hardening
- Troubleshoot hardware, software, network, printer, and user access issues
- Support backups, disaster recovery, and system upgrades
- Provision and manage user accounts, permissions, and access lifecycle (onboarding/offboarding)
- Maintain IT inventory, including hardware, software, and licenses
- Document IT procedures, standards, and policies to support compliance (including NIST)
- Train and support users on IT systems and best practices
- Analyze system performance and recommend improvements
- Deliver responsive, high-quality customer support and own issues through resolution
- Assist with IT projects and additional responsibilities as assigned
Qualifications
Education & Certifications
- Associate degree in Computer Science or related field required
- CompTIA A+ and/or Network+ certifications preferred
Experience
- 2+ years of IT support or related experience preferred
- Experience with Windows environments, networking, and virtualization required
- Experience supporting mobile devices and enterprise endpoints
Skills
- Strong troubleshooting and problem-solving ability
- Solid understanding of IT systems, networking, and security fundamentals
- Strong written and verbal communication skills
- Ability to work under pressure, manage competing priorities, and maintain confidentiality
